Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration Promotes Latino Advancement
NLEI hosted its Hispanic Heritage Month celebration aimed at highlighting Latino advancement in Chicago. The celebration was sponsored by Primera Group Inc., and over 100 NLEI supporters were in attendance at Cantina Laredo in Chicago's River North neighborhood. Among those in attendance: State Senator Tony Muñoz and Lourdes Duarte, Anchor from WGN Chicago, who served as the Mistress of Ceremony.

Jesse Brown VA Medical Center Director, Michael Anaya Sr., Named 'Veteran of the Month' by Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs
NLEI hosted the "Veteran of the Month" award ceremony of the Department of Veterans' Affairs. Michael Anaya Sr., Director of the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, received the award presented by Illinois Director of Veterans Affairs Erica Borggren on behalf of Governor Pat Quinn. Special guests included State Senator Tony Muñoz, along with other elected officials.
