Job Description:
The Crew Leader will work as part of generally a 4-person team to provide full landscape maintenance services to commercial and multi-family home properties. You will have an established route of properties to maintain throughout the landscape season.  The Crew Leaders are responsible for the Management of crew members and will operate a full range of equipment to maintain properties and work with a variety of materials with limited supervision. The Crew Leader will ensure assigned tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to the quality standards set by Acres Group clients. Crew Leaders will oversee crews working in varying service lines including basic maintenance, landscape installation, planning, maintaining and organizing schedules to ensure expectations and supportive services are met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for overseeing daily landscape production operations on the job site.
Must be capable to operate all equipment for extended periods of time, including but not limited to; Mowers, Stander Mower, Walk Behind Mower, Rider, Push Mower, Sidewalk Edger, Hedge Trimmer, Line Trimmer, Back Pack Blower, Spade & Rake and more.
Follow through of daily and weekly assignments set by your manager.
Establish and maintain a good working relationship with your manager and with property/project managers.
Keep your manager informed of progress and problems on the job site.
Ensure quality of work being performed according to Acres standards.
Organize equipment, materials and labor to efficiently complete projects set by your manger during the landscape and snow removal seasons.
Responsible for setting safety goals, ensuring safety compliance and the managing overall safety of your crew.
Preventive Safety
Daily
Conduct pre-& post trip inspections to the truck, trailer & equipment
Lead stretches and safety huddles
Maintain water cooler
Weekly/Biweekly
Conduct tailgate trainings every other week with Manager
Monthly
Conduct infield safety and vehicle/trailer inspections with Manager
Coordinate daily activities under changing circumstances.
Assume responsibility for ensuring the overall quality and precision of all work at the job sites, including attending to the details.
Use independent judgment to develop creative solutions to problems that may arise in the course of a workday.
Handle customer complaints with professionalism and in accordance with company guideline / standards tact.
Lead and direct a crew effectively while projecting a positive image to the outside in your representation of the company.
Enforce all Acres policies and procedures; implement disciplinary procedures when necessary.
Responsible for the timely reporting of timesheets, and other required paperwork.
Communicate effectively with Production Managers, the Fleet Manager, Mechanics, Subordinates, and Clients: Project/Property Managers. Keep your manager informed of progress and problems on the job site.
Responsible for the proper maintenance and cleanliness of your truck, trailer and equipment. Follow proper procedures for reporting all equipment problems to your manager and to the shop for repair.
Must have the ability to lift at least 60 pounds.
When at the job site and conduct daily tours and visual inspections of the job site to identify and correct any issues; for instance areas yet to be graded, seeded or sodded; areas with varying turf heights and textures; all sizes and shapes of shrubbery, bushes, flower beds, etc.
REQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

3 + years of Landscape field experience
Horticultural knowledge
Ability to communicate in English
PREREQUISITES:
C Driver’s license (or higher) required.
Operator’s pesticide license preferred. Spray truck drivers must have the operator’s license.
Must possess OR obtain a medical exam card as required by the Department of Transportation to drive a truck and trailer.
Must possess a personal smart phone for the ability to utilize our time keeping application. (Company will reimburse for communication on the job)
